This purpose of this article is to help guide you on how to get started with creating your project milestones within Activ8.
Adding milestones to a project will allow you to cluster certain tasks together within the project.
A milestone is a grouping of tasks that are all relevant to one another.
Navigate to the ‘Workflow’ tab in the left-hand panel. From the drop-down menu, select ‘Project Management’.
Next, select the project that you would like to use. You find a list of projects in your ‘Active’, ‘Planning’ or ‘Template’ sections.
After opening the project, make sure you are on the ‘Plan’ section, then select the flag icon, which you can find directly underneath the ‘Detail’ and ‘Scope’ tabs.
If you hover over the flag icon, it reads ‘New Milestone’. Click this to create a new milestone or to import a milestone template. To exit this view, select the red cross.
Creating A New Milestone
To create a new milestone, select ‘New Milestone’ and then type in the name of your new milestone and click on the green plus.
If you already have tasks loaded, you can choose to select the tasks that should be grouped under this milestone. If not, leave the task section as ‘Unselected’.
Loading An Existing Milestone
To load an existing milestone, select ‘Load Milestone Template’ and select the template that you would like to use and type in the relevant name for this milestone.
Select the green plus to load this milestone
Now you are ready to add your own milestones to optimise your project planning.
