How To Pack Objects Onto A Gondola Block

The purpose of this article is to provide you with a clear step-by-step process to packing objects onto a gondola block while working on a floor plan in DotActiv software.

Applicable Products: DotActiv Enterprise

Packing Objects

First, navigate to the ‘Space Planning’ tab and select ‘Open’ in the ‘Floor Planning’ section. Select the FLP file that you’d like to open and click ‘Open’.

Once open, select a gondola block on your floor plan and right-click on it. From the context menu that pops up, click on ‘Properties’.

The ‘Gondola Block Properties’ window appears as seen below.

Navigate to the ‘CAD Attributes’ option in the left-hand side panel to access the Gondola Packing options.

In the ‘Gondola Packing’ section, you will find three options available: Left, Right, and Manual.

Packing Left

If you choose to pack your gondolas left, the objects will always snap to the left of your block.

Packing Right

If you choose to pack your gondolas right, the objects will always snap to the right of your block.

Packing Manual

By choosing to pack manually, you can place objects on the gondola block as you choose.

Please note that you can zoom in and out of a Floor Plan by clicking and holding both ‘CTRL’ and ‘+’ if you choose to zoom in. Alternatively, you would click and hold ‘CTRL’ and ‘-‘ if you would like to zoom out.

Adding Segments

If you wish to add segments in your gondola, right-click on the gondola again and select ‘Properties’ from the context menu.

In the ‘Gondola Block Properties’ window, navigate to ‘CAD Attributes’ and the ‘Gondola Block Spacing’ section.

Here, you can add segments in your gondola and break it up into different sized segments as needed. You can also add multiple segments to your gondola block, all with different sizes.

Please note, when using the different packing options, it will automatically apply to each segment that you add.

Should the above steps not work for you, please create a support ticket and DotActiv support will assist you in uncovering the issue.
