The purpose of this article is to explain how to import and Excel XLS/XLXS file to a new or existing planogram using DotActiv Lite.
Please note that the user requires Microsoft Office installed on their PC’s in order for this to work correctly. This is part of the prerequisites as stated on the DotActiv website on the pricing page.
Import To New Planogram
Step 1: Once you have your DotActiv open, go to the ‘Data’ tab in the top ribbon and click on the ‘Import To Planogram’ icon.
Step 2: A window will pop up where you will need to select the file you wish to import, select the Excel file and click ‘Open’.
Step 3: Another pop-up window will appear notifying you that your data has been imported successfully, click ‘OK’.
Now you will see that your planogram has been created with all your products packed on a green floating shelf, as seen in gif below. This is because these are new products and all new products will be packed on a green shelf. This requires the user to manually pack the products on the planogram.
Step 4: You can view your data by opening a product report. Click on the ‘Reporting’ tab and select ‘Product’. Your product information will be displayed in the grid.
Update An Existing Planogram
Step 1: To update an existing planogram, have your planogram open and click the drop-down arrow on the ‘Import To Planogram’ icon.
Step 2: Select your Excel file and click ‘Open’, as seen in gif below.
Step 3: A window will pop-up where you are able to select the fields you wish to update, and tick the ‘Only update products on shelf’ checkbox.
- Select ‘Insert and Update’ to insert new products and update existing.
- Select ‘Update Only’ to only update products on the planogram, or
- Select ‘Insert Only’ to insert new products only.
Once completed you will see your products updated on your shelf, and new products that have been inserted would have been added to the green floating shelf.
