The purpose of this article is to guide you through the process of adding logos to your planograms and where to save them on your computer.
Logos add identity and character to any planogram and we highly recommend you add your own logos to your planograms. Logos help to indicate the company who completed the planogram (in our case DotActiv), the supplier (who in some cases is supplying the planogram to a retailer) and the retailer for whom the planogram was created.
The logos will only appear on a printed report or planogram when selecting one of the following Shelf Plan ‘Reporting’ options: Shelf, Plano, Stretch, Plano & Shelf, and Split Shelf & Plano.
Logos within DotActiv only have to be set up once as the software will remember your previously selected settings. Within each of the above mentioned reports, setting up the logos works in the same way, and if you set it up for one report (e.g. Plano Report) it will automatically be set up for the other reports.
DotActiv will also automatically insert logos within the three logo spaces. The top right corner is the placement of your own company logo, in this example, it will be the DotActiv logo. The bottom left-hand corner is reserved for the retailer logo and the bottom right for the supplier logo. If you were to create a planogram for a supplier to be implemented within a specific store for a specific retailer, you will make use of these bottom logos. If you are creating a planogram for a retailer, the supplier logo can be changed to your own company logo.
Logos will also be replicated on every page of your report.
For the logo’s to be inserted, it is important to correctly link the logo directory with the software if this has not been set up.
Setting Up The Logo Directory
To set up the directory, go to the reporting tab and select the shelf plan report you wish to create. This will bring up the report window. Once open, click on the “Logo” icon in the top left corner.
This will bring up the Select Directory window. Here you can select the directory which contains your logos. DotActiv has conveniently created a folder within your computer’s C-Drive named “Logos” where the predetermined logos (retailer and supplier) are located. You will find it on your own PC here: C:\DotActiv Data\Logos
You can then copy and paste your company, retailer and supplier logo to this folder to allow the DotActiv software to map to this folder location.
You can also choose any folder on your computer which contains your logos.
Logo Format
The format of any logos used within DotActiv should always be a jpeg format with a high resolution. Smaller resolution logos will pixelate when printing the planogram to PDF.
Choosing Logos
Choosing the correct logo is as simple as clicking on the drop-down menu next to the logo bar (“logo 1 or 2 or 3”) and selecting the logo you wish to see. Logo 1 is the logo found in the top right-hand corner, logo 2 the bottom left-hand corner and logo 3 the bottom right-hand corner. Please see gif below.
