The purpose of this article is to guide you through the process of renaming shelves on your planogram.
Applicable Products: DotActiv Free, DotActiv Lite, DotActiv Pro, DotActiv Enterprise.
Renaming a shelf is easy to do and allows you to include additional information to your planograms. Information can include as little or as much information as you wish to add, keeping in mind the space you have available to add information to.
The new information added, will be seen on the shelf as well as on any of the reports, but to ensure you see it on your planogram, ensure the fixture labels are selected.
Renaming a shelf can be done in a few different ways, namely:
- Through the ‘Shelf Properties’ window; and
- The ‘Fixture Report’.
Shelf Properties
To rename a shelf using the ‘Shelf Properties’, double-click on a shelf. This will bring up the ‘Shelf Properties’ window.
Within the ‘Name’ bar, you can type in the name or information you wish the shelf to have, keeping in mind that if you renumber your shelves, the shelf number will automatically be added to the front of your name or shelf information. For this example, we are going to add the shelf type and the notch on which this shelf must be placed when merchandising.
When renumbering your shelves, the new inserted name or information will not be taken away until the name or information is manually deleted.
Fixture Report
Another way to rename shelves is by using the ‘Fixture Report’ which is located within the reporting tab.
This will bring up the ‘Fixture Report’ on the bottom of your screen. The report can be dragged to increase its size for better viewing.
This report is ideal to use when you want to complete a bulk change or change the names of a few shelves at once. Ensuring your shelves are renumbered will ensure your fixture report is in order with the types of fixture, banners, and obstructions being grouped together.
Editing the name of a shelf is as easy as double-clicking on the field you wish to edit and inserting the new name or information. Alternatively, you can use the copy and paste feature to change a few at the same time.
If you accidentally change the shelf number, the renumber shelf function can be used to correct this and as mentioned before, this will not overwrite the name or information manually inserted.
This function of renaming can be used with a variety of fixtures including banners, hanging bars, and obstructions.
