My Product Library Is Not Working

The purpose of this article is to explain why the product library in DotActiv software isn’t working. We also offer a solution to this error.

Applicable Products: DotActiv Lite, DotActiv Pro, DotActiv Enterprise

Slow Connection

If DotActiv times out while you search for a product, it could be due to a slow connection to your computer or database.

Ensure you are connected to a stable network. To test your connection, open your preferred browser and attempt to load a website.

If you can access the website without issue, and your internet connection is strong, you would need to narrow your search.

After opening DotActiv, ensure you are in the ‘Data’ tab. You can find the ‘Product Library’ icon in the ‘Show’ section.

Clicking on it brings up the ‘Product Library – General Search’ window.

Here, you can select which field you want to search. In this case, we’ll search ‘Category’. Doing so only pulls search results from that the ‘Category’ field.

You can also choose to include or exclude product images. As seen in the below image, there is a checkbox that you can tick or untick in the ‘Data’ section.

By narrowing your search, your product library should work much faster and your database shouldn’t crash while you search.
