How To Use The Report Item Index When Working With Custom Reports

Purpose

The purpose of this article is to provide a step-by-step process on how to use the Report Item Index function when working with custom reports in the DotActiv software. 

Applicable Products: DotActiv Enterprise

Report Item Index

Open the DotActiv software, click on the drop-down Custom Report, select Report builder, and choose to open. Once opened, under custom report tools, click on Report Item Index. 

The Report Item Index grid on custom reporting has a consolidated view of all objects on the report per page and data source.

Linked Selection 

When a grid item is selected, it will jump to that item on the report and when a report item is selected, it will jump to that item on the grid. In Custom Reporting, the selection indicator for an item is a solid red outline shown below.

Edits And Filters On The Grid 

For example, under the Item Name, Text Box 1 can be edited to the Header to indicate what item is on the report.

Additionally, the grid has the option to filter by page, data source, item name, and time type.
