How To Apply An Existing Report Template To A Different Data Source

The purpose of this article is to offer you a clear step-by-step process on how to apply an existing report template to a different data source in DotActiv software.

Connecting To Different Data Sources

First, open DotActiv.

Next, navigate to ‘File’ and then ‘Setup’. In the drop-down menu that appears, find Data Cube’ under the ‘Database’ section.

As seen in the below GIF, clicking on it brings up the ‘Data Cube Setup’ window.

You can begin by selecting a data cube that you have set up previously or you can create a new one. Clicking on the ‘Cube Name’ section brings up all the cubes that you or your colleagues have already created. 

Once you have the correct data cube in the setup window, navigate to the ‘Source’ section. As you can see in the GIF, you have a few options.

You can choose to connect to a planogram, a CSV/XLS file or a database. For this example, we’ll choose the database. If you want to change the source again, you can click on the name and select a different option.

To connect to a CSV or Excel sheet as a data source, follow the same steps as above but select CSV/XLS in the ‘Source’ section. 

You can follow the same steps to connect to your planograms as data sources too.

Click ‘Save’ to save your cube. Then run your data cube, before clicking ‘Save’ again.
